{"id":36,"date":"2013-06-19T06:40:50","date_gmt":"2013-06-19T06:40:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/therosenthalfirm.com\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2025-07-31T15:16:05","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T15:16:05","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/therosenthalfirm.com\/?page_id=36","title":{"rendered":"Professional Biography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-403 \" src=\"https:\/\/therosenthalfirm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_8054.tiff\" alt=\"\" width=\"146\" height=\"233\" \/>Jill Rosenthal graduated\u00a0<em>summa cum laude <\/em>and<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>Phi Beta Kappa\u00a0<\/em>from the University of California at Berkeley before obtaining her\u00a0law degree from Georgetown University.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to forming\u00a0<i>The Rosenthal Firm,\u00a0<\/i>Ms. Rosenthal\u00a0practiced law for 20 years &#8211; first as a corporate litigator in two prestigious law firms, and then as General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs and Human Resources for The Sports Club Company, owner and operator of a national chain of luxury health and fitness clubs branded as The Sports Club\/LA.<\/p>\n<p>During her \u201cin-house\u201d years, Ms. Rosenthal oversaw all legal matters relating to a workforce of over 2,500 employees. These matters included hiring, training and disciplinary action, compliance, benefits and investigations into workplace complaints such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, accommodation of disabilities and employee misconduct. She also represented the company in all hearings before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and worked closely with outside counsel on all civil litigation involving the company.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Rosenthal now concentrates primarily on\u00a0independent workplace investigations, work she is uniquely suited for this work having\u00a0developed the necessary skills during her years as a litigator and, before that, an investigative reporter. Ms. Rosenthal has conducted\u00a0investigations in a wide variety of industries including healthcare, insurance, real estate, information technology, sales, marketing, hospitality, service, retail, industry and the financial sector, and is recognized for her ability to obtain necessary information from even the most difficult witnesses, be they corporate executives or factory workers.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Rosenthal also coaches executives and provides management training services designed to help minimize the risk and cost of litigation. She specializes in the high-end hospitality industry (golf and country clubs and luxury hotels, resorts and health clubs) but has clients in many different areas. \u00a0Among other things, she employs her training as a DISC-certified Behavioral Analyst to aid in mediating workplace disputes, re-engaging disgruntled employees and advise employers on other litigation prevention strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Rosenthal is a member of the California and Los Angeles County Bar Associations and the Association of Workplace Investigators where she has served on several committees and taught at the AWI Training Institute.
